I am Christian and I stand up for all beliefs, because each has a lot to offer in the answer to what the Truth is. The only thing I might add is that Atheists have no belief, since they have no faith, therefore, I cannot find anything in that part of your question to defend.
God bless always

Yep... providing that faith wasn't being used to control the masses or government... and a faith bent on hurting others that don't share their beliefs, or a faith based on hurting others for any reason shouldn't be considered a faith at all. It's an interesting question... I'll defend an individuals right to practice their religion as long as it doesn't hurt others. But most religious people think that their way is the only way... no wonder there's so much conflict in the world.

Of course! That's what makes America great, that we all have the right to our own beliefs. I worked for Verizon Wireless at a large call center. I was training a young woman who had just came out of a class onto the work floor. In visiting with her between calls, she was able to share with me that there was a black woman in the class who always wore a scarf. The plan was to pull the scarf from her head on the way to their cars that night, kind of like an end of the training celebration. I am a born again, spirit filled Christian and I was horrified. I went right straight to my super who was also a Christian and a personal friend. He went to their trainer and security was brought in. Needless to say, nothing happened to her that night or ever. She was told who had come to her aid and as we were walking out that night I saw her look at me but she didn't return my smile or thank me but that's ok. I know that I did the right thing and I did it for myself so I could stand before God unashamed. By the way, my oldest son's best friend and best man at his Christian wedding was a Muslim. We all love Wassel and I would do what ever to protect him and his wife and children. He is not a terrorist but someone who has come to America for the same reason my ancestors came, so that he can be free. He is from Kuwait and some family members where killed by Iraqis when they invaded his country. He and my son were pre-med together when 9/11 happened. His car was stopped and he was pulled out and thrown to the ground by police officers. He was terrified as we all would be and thought what had happened in his country was happening here. He is now a citizen and a doctor. If a time should come when a Muslim is not safe as it once was not safe for a Jew in Europe I can promise you I will be hiding them. I think everyone should read the book by Corrie TenBloom about how Christians hid Jews from the Germans during WWII. Her family was found out and went into a concentration camp right along with the Jews. She is the only member of her family to survive but she was still sure that they had done the right thing, that what was pleasing to God. I would particularly try to save an athiest as I know we are going to heaven but he or she would be someone who needs a bit more time to come to God. I hope I am not that different than most Americans.

I would and have defended other's beliefs and the right to believe. Believing is a purely human trait, it is a beautiful thing when done with respect. It can lead to violence and I do believe that believers in any faith need to accept and answer for the crimes of those who follow the same faith, if you choose a faith, you accept responsibility for its history and reputation.
P.S. Atheists don't have a "belief" per se, but I defend their lack of it.

I do actually. I have no problem with people believing whatever they want. The only things I can think of right now that I don't/won't defend are things like Jihad. No matter what your religious beliefs you don't have the right to impose them on other people and you don't have the right to kill them for believing different then you.

I wouldn't defend the Christian or Muslim faith.
I'd defend a person's right to believe it, however. So, I would oppose kicking someone out just for praying in school. On the other hand, I wouldn't go out of my way to teach a kid that God is all powerful.

Hello Adia Arek.. :)
Yes..I do and I always will stand up for others belief, whether they be Pagan, Atheist, Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist, Wicca etc..
For Jesus said we are to Love one another, so if I see someone being condemned for their beliefs, I will ask them to consider that Everyone has the right to express their own opinions though it may differ from mine.. :)
For we must be an example, not a hindurance..
In Jesus Most Precious Name..
With Love..In Christ.. :)

I would certainly defend one's right to have faith in whatever form that may be...
Would I stand up for another's faith, though...not likely. Hard to defend another belief when one doesn't believe in it. I would certainly listen to an intelligent discussion on faith with anyone...so long as it didn't balloon into fanaticism and preaching.

I stand with Voltaire on this. Paraphrasing: I may not agree with what you believe, but I will defend to the death your right to believe it!
Of course, I reserve the right to show you alternate views, but I will NEVER demand you listen or agree.
And you had jolly well better extend the same courtesy to me, or you may find out why my nickname is "The Wicked B***H of the West"!

I do! I've posted many answers defending other religions. As long as religion is there to guide people NOT seperate people I'm for it. The God I believe in is a God of tolerance, kindness, acceptance and peace. Jesus doesn't approve of bashing others and judging them in hateful ways. People who do that can not, in all good conscience, call themsleves "Christian".
