Not all brands just peter pan and walmart great value brand.

Colorado health officials warned consumers Thursday not to eat Peter Pan or Great Value peanut butter with the product code on the lid beginning with "2111," due to risk of Salmonella Tennessee contamination.

The contaminated peanut butter was traced to a ConAgra facility in Sylvester, Ga. and resulted in 288 food-borne illnesses in 39 states. No deaths have been reported. Records indicate 10 cases were sent to Colorado.

Salmonella is a bacteria and could cause symptoms of diarrhea, fever, dehydration, abdominal pain and vomiting. For more information contact ConAgra at 866-344-6970 or the Department of Public Health and Environment at 303-692-3620

Why did they take Peter Pan Peanut Butter and Walmart brand peanut butter off the shelf? Those brands were contaminated and made quite a few people very sick so if you have those brands on your shelf going back to May of 2005, pitch them. There was a certain Lot Number on these contaminated ones but I don't use those brands so didn't pay attention to the numbner. As a side note, Walmart brand is the same as Peter Pan but when you buy the bottle labeled Peter Pan you are paying a lot more for the same thing.
