Shouldn't we be happy that we agree that it's wrong?

Maybe, except lots of people know murder is wrong the same way they know homosexuals should be murdered.

Yes and no. Yes, that we agree murder is wrong is a good thing. However, if we've come to that conclusion from different viewpoints, the result may not be so good. That is because those who came to this conclusion by applying societal norms fails to recognize that societal norms change. In the last century alone, hundreds of millions of people were murdered because various societies sanctioned murder, justifying it by 'reducing' the humanity of unwanted groups. After all, to kill something that's not human is not murder. Without an absolutely objective source of morality, who's to say that the winds of societal norms won't shift back to such an extreme!?

If the goal is to eliminate the possibility of future genocides, then subjective morality must be dispensed with in favor of the absolute objective morality shared by the judeo-christian tradition.

Yeah we should just be happy and leave it alone, all religions or people for that matter can not disagree on the fact that murder is against the law of nature.

I agree with you.

I just don't understand why some people on here are so dead set on making Atheist morals such an issue. (not talking about you) There have just been so many questions from Christians lately that are just plain dumb.
Why aren't Atheists allowed to have morals for crying out loud?

We should be happy that we agree, but people always want to find some reason to look down on others.

I think it's an interesting academic question -- where do our ethics come from? But regardless of that, we obviously have them, and they don't come from Yahweh.
