I had a counsellor last year, to help with severe depression, and he was fantastic. I wouldn't be here today without the help of my doctor and counsellor. It may seem worse now, if you are suffering from depression, but don't give up as you will be helped in the long term.
Failing that, you may find that switching counsellors may help as you don't always get on with the one you originally go to. It is a difficult relationship with a counsellor, as they may dig up alot of rubbish that you thought you had buried. You have to feel comfortable with them. In the long term this is often necessary and will help you move on.

Well mine doesn't maybe you should tell her how you feel as she may not be awar failing this you could be transferred to someone else, a counsellors job is to help you feel better if she is making you feel worse you should really take an action against her.
(i hope ts a girl as i have referred to her as well a her)

It's definitely not the psych's job to make you feel bad or inferior. They are supposed to help you make sense out of your life. If you and your counsellor don't mesh well, you surely won't make any progress. I'd suggest asking for someone else. Good luck!

Hey jack ~ we must of had the same counsellor, because mine acted like that too!
I dumped her and found someone better!
They are NOT supposed to do that. It is there job to help you, not hurt you!!

i went to a physchiatric nurse onece who was a complete biotch to me, she shouted at me and made me feel like i was lying and i left and cried! I thought she was trying to provoke me to see if i was violent or something or to get something out of me.. i stopped seeing her, i have went to a new counsellor and she's lovely. Please switch counsellors, they have no right to make you feel worse, its already daunting going to see mental health professionals ...you dont need them making you feel worse!

not all of them so change if need be, if you are bringing harm to yourself they might be frustrated and want you to be feeling better
