If you still have the box call the 800 number. (or find it online) Tell them the color you were going for and the color you ended up with and they will be able to tell you the different combinations that will fix the color NOW. Who wants to wait weeks with a color they don't like?? lol

Try plastering a heavy hot oil conditioner all over your hair. Then cover it with a plastic cap and sit under a hair dryer for about ten minutes. Shampoo as usual and it will remove some of the color. It won't harm your hair and at worst, it will make your hair shiny. Metalex works great for this if you can find it in the beauty supply stores. There are also color remover kits if you prefer that option.

It sounds like your hair is quite porous. You may not need to ... wait a week or so, as many hair dyes fade after a week or so. I have blondish hair, I dyed it medium brown ... and it got lighter and lighter as the weeks progressed. I ended up with the same color I started with. :(

Try washing it with Dawn dish soap and then conditioner. I've done that before and it did fade the color allot.
