You're kidding, right? Atheists are always complaining that we're trying to 'force' our belifs down your throat. But when we discover that you already have your mind made up and so respect that, you complain that we are leaving you alone??? What's up with that?????

An atheist, as I posed the question a few days ago, and was told, is not an atheist by default. An atheist has made a faith decision the same as a christian has made a faith decision.
Most people are apathetic about God issues - period. These I would not call atheists - they do not actively believe in no god. - in fact, many people have a belief in some sort of a deity.
Anyway, what do you want to talk about? e-mail me.... I'm not going to try to convert you, you're not going be able to convert me - but we can try to understand each other a bit more.

I applaud the 13th answer to your question: The Bible is the best tool of an atheist.
You don't even have to be an atheist. Perhaps you believe there is a god -- just study the Bible and you will see that the Bible god is a sorry excuse for a god.
Talk with church people about the weird things the Bible god does and says -- and the Bible is full of examples -- and they will suddenly lose interest.
In all your conversations with them keep in mind one thing: They say the Bible god never changes.
If he had those problems then he must have them today. Study the Bible and you will see what kind of god they worship.

I don't wanna stop the conversation. Maybe its a question that simply can't be answered.
Where did God come from? Or something like that - a person would have to answer "How the hell do I know?", if they were being honest, ya know?
I have lots of conversations with Athiests on here all the time; In fact, I've been reported three times for having too much conversation with Jim Darwin. But I love talking to him - at least he lightens things up around here, and man does this forum ever need to lighten up sometimes. geez.....people need to relax, smoke a doobie or something....

I think what you are pointing out is a trait that many people have...not just Christians. Some people think that they have all of life's issues figured out...they have their answers/beliefs neatly filed away. If you are in listening mode, they'll sit back and regurgitate their stock answers. However, they don't want you to challenge them, because then they might have to rethink what they thought they'd already figured out. Ultimately, this kind of "conversing" is usually a a sign of insecurity (with their own lack of knowledge)...

I don't know any Christians. If you're talking about church people, I have a theory.
Some of them can recite the party line quite well.
If the conversation gets into areas not well rehearsed, they quickly lose interest.
For example, if I should say "I learned that rudimentary hind limbs appear briefly in the embryos of whales and dolphins. What was the LORD thinking?"
Then I'm getting into godless science. Not interesting.
But if you stick with church science, that is something they can discuss. For example, discuss Joshua and how he commanded the sun to stand still -- not just for an hour, but for a whole day. Now you're getting into church science, and that's something they like.

I've learned,
They don't like being challenged,
But hey I'm always up for a good discussion, And i don't lie down so quickly, some athists think that we push our beliefs on them, we just like discussing our views like athists do, some christians are just one sided on that view though,
but not me.
If I can discuss, you can to, and i will actually take what you dsay into consideration.

Because they tend to not like you when you start dropping your knowledge towards their beliefs. They at first saw a window of opportunity to convert you. Once you closed that window on them they get frustrated and split.

Friend you never had met me, I don't talk to anyone about religion & I have been a Christian for 37 yrs. If they talk to me to see & try my faith, Every atheist took off the other way, If you want to talk to me, Let's see who runs off first, Because you can not prove atheistism, & I can prove God without even opening my bible, Do you want a discussion, one on one No books of your & no books of my, I will not run off, in fact I will have to run after you to finish my statement. I have NEVER ran away from Athiets, Agnostics, Muslums, Unbelievers, or Make Believers.,It is your choise, No books only our beliefs, You know why I don't have to bring the bible with me, Because it is in my heart. & your ideals is only in your littlre mind.
