My son is a teen ager with ADHD. He has always complained of his ears being hot, but lately it happens all the time. The turn really red and real hot, but they don't hurt. The doctor found no sign of infection and said he is not the only one, but didn't know of a way to stop it.

The red ears could be caused by allergies. You could take him to an allergist to get tested, or just try some over-the-counter antihistamines like benedryl or claritin the next time his ears get red.

This seems to be pretty normal. Do you have Irish heritage (which redness is a common thing)? Is he sleeping on a rough pillow or something? Try checking out www.webmd.com. They would have better suggestions than I would.
