what all do I need to tell her.

We've gone over discipline. No spanking, yelling, scolding, etc. Just gentle discipline.

She has emergency contact numbers.

She has dates that I need care.

She has lists of what foods the kids like and what activities they like.

Is there anything else I really need to go over with her? I meet up with her in about 2 hours.

yes, we've agreed on a wage

My SIL will babysit if something comes up and she can't watch my kids.

We've gone over allergies (kids have none) and she has copies of my kids care cards as well as the doctors name.

My oldest is 3 1/2. He doesn't nap so we arent' worried about that.

My youngest is 15 months. He naps and she agrees to rock him to sleep. She won't ever let him cry it out because not even she agrees with it.

It's a home daycare. I am lending her a sling and an ergo to carry my little guy. They go for walks but she lives in the country so my oldest will walk (he's VERY good about holding hands and staying right beside me) and she will carry my youngest in the ergo or sling.

Elmar66, no wonder we have so many uncaring, rude, inconsiderate, arrogant, ignorant individuals in the world. Your mom must've grown up without knowing what gentle discipline was because you obviously lack any ability to be gentle and understanding.

You should add a list of allergies. Also, write a permission slip for urgent medical care and the name/number of the doctor in case of an emergency if you can't be reached.

I hope you have discussed salary and a back up plan if she's unavailable.

How old are your children? Is it in home care she is providing? Maybe you should tell her some off limit TV shows and where the boundaries are regarding the length the children can walk. Unless your children are very small of course. But if its a day care you plan on bringing your children maybe you should talk about nap time and things that may over stimulate your children.

You need to write a statement stating this provider may bring your children to receive medical attention when needed. Also state their ages and birth dates on the sheet so they have the correct information. This could help alot.

Also ask the provider if she has any questions of her own she wants answered. There is alot to cover when it comes to your babies....Just remember that you trust this person with your children and everything will be ok.

Good Luck and I wish you the Best!

Sounds like you've got your bases covered. Will she be driving them anywhere? if so, you might want to discuss carseats etc...

I do home daycare and i do ask about media limits too.
As for Elmerfudd there. What a maroon!

Go over the policy that they have if your child gets hurt by another child, what if they are serving food that your child don't like? And do they have a daily routine

a lot depends on the age of the kids, and how many of them are there.

WHAT?????? Gentle DISCIPLINE?????

Why so they can learn how to take charge in the class AND at home? That's absolutely insane. No wonder we have children yelling and screaming and not listening to their parents.

Parents and care givers need to have a spine and demonstrate to the child exactly who is in charge.

No wonder most children have no respect for authority, parently like you neuter care givers ability to discipline the children.

Simply amazing!
