Reality dictates that nothing is perfect.

More or less like a harmonious chaos if you will. But there has to be something thats perfect right?

No, Atheism is the lack of belief in a god or gods. Period.

Any and all other beliefs do not bear on that definition.

It is an awfully maudlin view of reality to just see the faults. Since you believe in a perfect being, does that mean that's how you view the rest of reality???

Atheism is only a 'particular belief system' that chooses 'not to believe in any God' ... they believe that life 'simply evolved naturally' with no creator behind it. I happen to be a Catholic, and I also am a believer in 'evolution' (a 'theory' not a 'fact,' by the way) ... and if there is a God, then those 'atheists' will get their chance too, at 'Judgement Day' ... and I actually do believe that if they were 'good' people God will 'accept them into Heaven' ... and I also believe that God LOVES THEM just as much as he loves me and other Christians, Jews, Muslims, Buddhists, etc.
So, NO, atheism is not a 'world of faults with no place for a Perfect being' ... it's simply a different 'belief system' than yours or mine.

There seems to be some confusion over terminology. Deism is what about 75% of the founding fathers of this country believed in; this is the belief in a supreme creator but rejects the mantra of major western religious tradition, it's actually based on some of the tenets of the Iroqoi spiritual system as is our constitution. Closely related to this is agnosticism. Atheism is the total rejection of a supreme being concept; one of the problems for the religious with Atheism is that Atheists actually exhibit lower crime rates than their religious counterparts...the concept that morality is bestowed by a higher being starts to crumble in the face of this.

No, it's the lack of a belief in a god or gods. It's not a world of any sort.
If you want a world full of faults with no perfect being, doesn't Christianity teach that we're all born as sinners? That seems pretty close. Of course Christians believe in a perfect being, but he doesn't have a place in the world, at least not physically.

I am not an atheist but I know a bunch of atheists and not one of them seems to consider the world as filled with faults.

Saying that the world is full of faults is what the True Believer has to do. If the believer ever admitted that the world is actually O.K. then he would not be able to say that he has the remedy.

Buddhists can be classed as atheists and some believe in a Pure Land with no suffering, most believe that the Buddha perfected thought, action and speech through sheer determination, and he was just a man like you or I when he achieved it. And he taught so that all can attain this state of unhindered bliss, and many have done.

So nerr! :P

Atheism is a dread world wrought with firey lava lakes and demons and mutant bats soar through the air. Every time somebody questions a contradiction in the bible, somewhere deep in the infernal halls of atheism there lies in wait the gaping jaws of Stalin to feast on the shovelfulls of unbaptized & jewish babies, gargling their offal and lifesblood in sickening songs of rock n roll. Every street corner has a strip bar in which every hooker has AIDS and services only hethan black people. The summit of the highest peak in Atheist World there shines a black light from an inverted cross, upon which their unholy martyr Micheal Moore was hanged and flagellated. It is through his flesh and blood that the atheists rise from the dark pits to walk our earth... lurking in the shadows, performing abortions, eating meat on fridays and raping our babies. The FBI is in Atheist World, preying on our pastors for daring to bapstize our children with their holy seed.

We must unite somehow to stop them... so please, everybody pray with me and put a dollar in the basket!

If by "Perfect being" you're referring to the Judeo-Christian god, take a look at the world around you, sweetie. Look perfect to you?
