I got shot by a Copper BB Gun by my cousin on my leg on Chinese New Years and it started to heal by itself forming a scab and a bruise around it. I just looked at it right now and i peeled the scab (gross and bad i know but i couldnt help it) and the wound looks like a little red hole and the wound is harder then the rest of my skin. Will my wound look nicer because its noticable in my view and its very ugly and i dont know if it will heal nicely or not. Has anyone ever got shot by a BB Gun before? What happened? How did the wound look? Is the wound still noticable? Also I dont think its infected because when I got shot I put a bandaid and medicine on it to heal and it dosent look infected at all. The wound itself is just alittle harder then the rest of my skin. Can anyone help me please?

I dont think its an infection because it dosent look like one at all. Theres just a little circle of red from the peeled scab and purple bruise circling it.

You haven't described infection but you have described scar tissue. Scar tissue will feel harder than the surrounding skin. There is an entire physiology of wound healing. Our skin heals by primary, secondary and tertiary intention and this is determined by the amount of tissue loss. Without going into a lot of detail, your healing has been secondary and there is scar tissue present. Someone else suggested using a product to minimize scarring. It won't hurt to use such a product. This may or may not have any effect and if so would probably be minimal at best. However, our skin is remarkably resilient and healing may continue for several years. I'd suggest you use a product like OTC Vit. A&D ointment or Moisture barrier ointment to keep the skin at the affected area moisturized. These ointments are also useful in healing and protecting the skin.

Most BB's contain led, and if it's a serious wound you can get led poisoning and have an infection. I personal got shot in the arm with a BB gun and though it's very small now, i have a scar. The redness will go away with sometime, if you think it might have an infection get it checked out. Give it some time, for me personally it took like 3 weeks, the redness went away but I still have a scar. Not noticable to someone unless you mention it.

I'm a nurse. This can turn serious, infection can spread into your bloodstream and become fatal, see a doctor to determine if it is infected. Medication may be needed, take care and all the best.
