Mr. Nolte,
Well if you just count the Four Gospels I guess that what he DID teach was life . . . how to be saved. It is rather important I would think!
But that is not all he had to teach, and no, I am not talking about the Book of Mormon! lol
All through the Old Testament we have other things that he did prior to coming to Earth. The context of that is that he is the literal Word of God, the Glory of God, The God of our Salvation.
In that part of the Bible known as the Old Testament we have 'types and shadows' of Christ. Sometimes it was the role people played, sometimes it was objects. But they all pointed to him, so that they revealed the nature of the Messiah. Important stuff!
In the New Testament, Paul wrote ( I'm one of those that believe Paul wrote the Letter to the Hebrews) , the Epistle to the Hebrews. In that 'Book' we have a great concentration of information dealing with those 'types and shadows' of things that had to do with what Jesus was doing on the stage of history. It shows that Jesus and what he did was preconcieved long before the occurance of them. That's where prophecy comes in. God foresaw the events ( One of His names is ' The God of the Forefront' getting there before we do, exploring the dark places we are afraid to look in) and inspired the writing down of them.
I would recommend that you read the Letter to the Hebrews with all the cross references to the Old Testament. It will take some time, but you should come away with an understanding of Jesus and what he actually did that you currently do not have.
E-mail me if you want to. I'll do my best to help.

Two reasons:
At the time, in Jewish tradition, a person was not considered an adult until they were almost 30 years of age.
To be taken seriously, he would have to be thought of as an adult.
Plus, the prophet Daniel's prophecy has the Messiah appearing in 29 C.E. Daniel 9:25.
At that moment Jesus was 30.
He was baptized and became the messiah ....or, Christ.

You are so, so obsessed with Christianity. I can't count how many of your questions I've answered and here is another one. What gives with you anyway? If you are searching for something meaningful in your life, you are not going to find it at Yahoo answers. If on the other hand, you are challenging Christians to examine what they believe, you are doing an excellent job and I thank you, Jesus thanks you and His Father thanks you. Good luck and God bless

hon, it took 33 years to get the teachings drummed into thick skulls that lived with Him constantly during that time...and here it is 2,000 years later and you still haven't learned it --- so what's your excuse?

In that time or culture a person couldn't become a rabbi, or teacher like that, until you were 30.
