Medical staples are the most common way of closing a wound these days. They is much faster, and easier to remove. In the old days, every stitch was knotted individually. for a big wound, that would take a long time with the patient under sedation. They still use disolving sutures on inside-the-body wounds though. These staples are special, and don't rust. but some people still have sensitivity to them and the skin will try to "shrink" away from the metal. Those are rare though. Hope this helps.

Medical stapling has been common for years, and is not harmful to your body. It depends whether you are talking about staples used on the surface or internally. They cannot rust, they are likely to be made of stainless steel.

It is very common, and the staples are new, non-rusty, and sterile.
