What does cowardice have to do with the situation? Isn't it more cowardly to go along with something you don't beleive in and couragous to oppose what you think is unjust and tyranical?

SRA AFIN - You mean like when Bush "flip flopped" on the North Korea policy???
Dallas - Yes, many conservatives DO call anyone who opposes the war a coward, look at YA for proof
Melissa B - You mean like the "real facts" about WMD?

bayouborn81 and m1a1mikegolf - I am too old to be in the military, so I will be safe at home either way, anyway, so what does that do to your theory? I was for the war in Afgahnistan to capture Bin Ladin... remember him?

Well, I consider my self a "conservative"... even though I'm in California, love my environment, hate corporate greed and corruption, and am NOT of the Christian church.
I've never called anyone a coward... well, there was that one time in high-school and the statute of limitations ran out on that.
There are ignorant folks, rhetorists and sheep/lemmings in BOTH parties...
I wish we could get the middle together and form a third party of reasonable minds. I am registered Republican, but FIGHT the party in some of the more asinine positions taken by the religious right (abortion, homosexual-partners, and creationism). Yet I also cringe at such Democratic positions like "Ebonics", banning prayer, banning Xmas...

That is what is wrong with the world today. Republicans vs Democrats... We can't just be one; we have to all be against each other because of little unimportant differences... Before Democrats or Republicans started, the founders of this nation (Washington, Jefferson, etc) warned us about the separation that would occur and the fights that would happen.
Regardless, Republican or Democrat, they all call each other names and say negative things about the other side. So to answer your question the conservatives call opposing people a "coward" because it is against their personal views, just like a liberal or Democrat will call someone a "fool" for having a different opinion... There should be no "name calling" from either side since both of them have their faults and neither of them are perfect.
BTW, here is another example for you. It appears that the majority of people that have answered with a conservative type answer have gotten thumbs down, while the people with a more democratic answer have gotten thumbs up. The answers here seem to be Democrat vs. Republican. Voicing a different opinion gets one a big thumbs down... Here is a question for you, why are people bias?

Because they are Cowards who believe that everyone is out to get them. Only by blindly following thier Fuhrer George W. Bush can we be safe from Osama. If they only realized that the Bush Family has gotten rich in two Iraq Wars.

A coward is someone who does not want to fight, a quitter. If that is what the democrats want, then that's what it is.
I don't think it has anything to do with what Bush policies are.
There are republican cowards as well, but they may agree with a lot of Bush policies, not all, and I think all democrats agree with some of Bush policies to different degrees.
Hope this helps with perspective.

Becouse all liberals/cowards sit it home all safe and snug and create theories about the goings on of a place they don't have the courage to go.
Yeah it takes alot of courage to sit at home and scream ideals and opinions.Courage is picking up a rifle and fighting to defend your nation and countrymen.YOu liberals don't know the first thing about courage
The person who said that hippies were right about vietnam is just an idiot.

I'm not a conservative nor a liberal. I'm solidly independent.
A coward is someone who signs up for the military and then backs out of his/her commitment. Yes, I've abused a number of people at YA who have stupidly asked for advice on how to skip out of their enlistment contract. Yes, I used the word "coward" to shame them, and they deserved my scorn because I honored my commitment to the Army even when it was hard duty.
A coward is also someone who can't think of any good reasons to fight for their country. Cowardice really boils down to an attitude of selfishness: my life is more important than any other consideration.
What would you give your life for?

they do it for the same reason that Dems call Republicans names. Havn'et you noticed? That's the name of the game now.
When was the last time you saw a politician get up and say ' I will do this, and this and that' instead of saying 'my opponent, so and so, voted for that and that and this'
Your right that it takes more courage to have the courage of your convictions. But if you are looking to politicians for courage, your looking in the wrong direction.

we don't. it is your right to dissent. the anti war people that get labeled cowards are the ones who are whining about a civil war, and it is their problem , etc.
we threw out their dictator, now it is hard to get them to work together, so some libs think we have done enough and should let them handle it. that says to me, you are walking down the street, you see two people killing each other, and you say, " we helped them, but now just let them kill each other. some help is enough help."
that is cowardice in the face of adversity.
