No gods or goddesses can be proven or disproven.

First start out by covincing them that they have a problem. This is necessary because until they think they have a problem you cannot get them to accept your god as a solution.

A good approach is to scare them. This should be done when they are still children. Teach them that they were born with a terrible burden of guilt for acts performed by really, really distant ancestors. If you can make them shed some tears you will know that you are getting to them.

Then tell them that when they die their existence will not cease but instead they will be beamed up or beamed down either to some really cool place upstairs or else a terrible place beneath the basement where there is weeping and wailing and gnashing of teeth, a life so miserable that even having to listen forever to angels playing harps out of tune begins to look like a better choice.

Next, you show them their choice. To do this you should have a holy book open in your hand. Not the Bhagavad Gita or the Koran or the Book of Mormon. Oh no. It must be the Torah of the Hebrews with the add-ons such as the Writings and the Psalms and the New Testament. But lose the apocrypha unless you're Anglican or Roman Catholic. Be praepared to thump this book frequently to prove that you're oh so RIGHT and keep repeating that its words are totally infallible.

Finally, get the victim down on his knees and make him feel worthless and humbled and subjugated and deeper in debt than Anna Nicole Smith on a maxed out credit card. Now you've got him softened up for closing the sale. All your debt has been paid, you tell him. Jeeeeezus has done it all. It's all part of Gawd's wondrous plan. All you have to do to accept this wonderful free gift is to beleeeeeeve. So Gawwwd exists and you're hooked like a heroin junkie with his veins stuffed with junk.

You can't prove it. It's simply impossible. If one could actually prove God's existence, then all other religions would fall. There would be no such thing as atheism, because you cannot not believe in something that you know exists.

Your friend has been asking the same questions as many others. You could bring up the free will argument, but that means that God is cruel enough to inflict free will on us so that we choose misery instead of happiness when God can simply make us happy. There are plenty of sites on that kind of debate. Good luck on that.

Dear P.P. - to be honest, no one can "prove" the existence of God to anyone.

Belief in God is by Faith for the Christian.
And Salvation can not be proven, it is received, and believed by Faith alone. {Eph 2:8-9).
And a person's relationship with God is by Faith
Trust in the Lord with all your heart {spirit, the soul is the mind, will and emotions) and lean NOT on your own understanding {mind). Prov.

For the Muslim or Muslimah, the belief in Allah can not be proven. It is believed by Faith in the Qur'an. And the Qur'an can not be proven as Truth or fact, it is accepted by faith.

There is no way to prove the existence of God to your friend, but you can simply live your Faith,
in a humble, non hypocritcal way (Matthew 7:1-5), demonstrating unconditional love {1 Cor. 13:4-7;11), and the fruits of the Christian Life {Gal. 5:22-23).

Do not even make attempts to answer those questions to him, hitler, etc. or try to "prove" that God exists. Simply do as Paul, who said to people, imitate me as I imitate Christ.
And as Jesus did, always respect the free will
of others.

God committed no crime, every time something happens badly they blame God. There are many people that suffer and many that do not. God said " Suffer my children to come unto me " So they are suffering for God and will have a special place in Heaven. As for anyone that has died like the Jews etc, they were the martyrs. And they go directly to Heaven!

"he asks is the life of millions of Jews equivalent to a single life??"

Ask him why he thinks God cares about any ones life, here on Earth?

I believe God could care less if we live or die here on Earth. What he cares about is if we live forever with him or not in heaven.

Do you care how many virus's have to die for you to get over a cold? As long as you get over the cold right?

If God has to let 1 million people die, just to get a chance to save you for eternity, would he take it?

You really can't all you can do is be a loving caring friend and explain that you are able to be there because of your faith and knowledge that you are never alone. There is no other way to show a person G-d's love or prove the existence.

You can't prove the existence of God in a scientific sense. God has not given us such evidence.

You have to understand God's plan for us to understand all of the why's and wherefore's. Answer these questions for him and maybe it will help.

1. Why did God place man on the earth? There are two main reasons that we are here. First to gain a physical body. For now this physical body it temporary, mortal and that is for a purpose. We are sent here to learn how to control these bodies and not let them control us. The big way we do that leads us to the second reason we are here. To learn to live in faith. When we place our faith in Jesus Christ and live according to his commandments, learning to control these bodies comes as a natural side effect.

2. Where did we come from anyway? We are the spirit children of God. He created all of our spirits and is therefore then the father of our spirits. We came from Him and we are created in His image.

3. So, then what's next after this life? Well that entirely depends upon us. In other words, do we place our faith in Jesus Christ? If so, do we make every attempt to keep his commandments. Jesus said, "If you love me, keep my commandments." Those who so keep the faith, will inherit eternal life with that God who gave us life. And we will be given perfected, glorified bodies at the time of the resurrection.

Now, armed with that knowledge, we can answer why people like Hitler are allowed to exist. You see, the only way we can learn to live in faith is for us to have our own freedom of choice. To choose good or evil. When we come to the final judgment, we can only be judged by the things that we do. How could we ever be judged for something we thought about doing but never did. I don't know about you, but I would be in terrible trouble if I were to be judged for evil thoughts that have come to mind from time to time. But being a rational person, I never acted on those thoughts. There have been times when, even in the attempt to do something I knew I shouldn't do, my attempt was blocked by some other thing that happened. Will I be judged the same as if I had actually committed the sin? I hope not and I don't think that I will because these times actually become learning experiences for me.

But there are the ungodly amongst us and have been ever since Cain killed Able. God allows them to exist for several reasons. One is the explanation I gave above. Another is that God wants us to truly learn what goodness and happiness are. In order to learn this he placed opposition in our path. So we see that all things have an opposite. Good and bad, light and dark, happy and sad, sense and insensibility, life and death.

The most important thing to remember is the hardest thing to remember. This life is but a brief blink of the eye in comparison to the eternities that await us. God knows this. He knows each of us more intimately than we know ourselves. Each of us are allotted a certain number of days in this life to learn the things that we need to learn. Some of us need more time than others. Knowing this and knowing the end of all things from the very beginning He knows when and where to place all people so that none will be shortchanged in the time they need on earth.

Because of His infinite power, he has the power to heal all people of wounds inflicted by the atrocities of others. The physical and psychological effects that we suffer in this life, become non-issues in the next to those who place their faith in Jesus Christ.

I hope this help and God bless.

You can't prove it to anyone other than yourself -- faith is personal. No matter how you try to explain it to someone, he or she will never understand unless he or she experiences it. John 7:16-17 Jesus only challenges us to try out His teaching first, then we will know if it really comes from heaven or if he's just speaking of himself. No matter how you claim that the Bible is God's Word, it will never make a difference to the person unless he or she actually tries it out to see if it really is true or not.

You can't convince your friend about God. Only God can. I have a very close friend that I am trying to speak to about God but she has just closed herself to that subject. She has even witnessed miracles happen in my life and has still not excepted him. All you can do is keep on praying and believing for your friend's salvation.

If you don't know how to answer that, maybe you should rethink your beliefs about god. The fact that you feel a god should not commit genocide should mean something to you. Maybe it's because god doesn't exist.
