You might want to see a doctor just in case. I've had these problems all of my life so they're normal to me. One of my kidneys is upside down so I tend to have pains. But, you can't fix things from cranberries, you can only prevent them from happening. I think it's far better to drink cranberry juice. The cranstrawberry and apple are ok too. What this does is make you bladder and everything else slick so that none of the bad stuff from dark drinks and crap like that sticks to your bladder and kidneys. Try drinking some juice for a couple days and stay away from pop are dark drinks. It should help, if not contact a doctor. Hope you feel better! Good Luck.
~Also, taking the pills on a regular basis are good for you, so you can do that. Try drinking the juice now then when that pain is gone start taking the pills and stay away from the dark drinks. Every once in a while is ok. AND....Beer is the worst for it! SO, at least TRY to steer clear of that! : )

I just had a bladder infection I was trying to treat with cranberry and it turned into a kidney infection. I waited a week before I went to doctor because I don't have insurance. The doctor told me that was far too long to wait and to not try cranberry again because it is a myth. It can stop a bladder infection in the earliest stage, but after that it is useless. He also said that if you don't take antibiotics for a kidney infection the kidneys can shut down and cause the person to require dialysis.

Please don't try to self-diagnose, especially an infection. And with the cranberries or cranberry juice, there is not concrete evidence that the fruit works to cure bladder infections. They say that one must drink an inordinate amount of it to even have any benefit. If you do have either a bladder or kidney infection, it must be treated with an antibiotic medication, so please do call your doctor if you even get the answering service. If you can't get the dr, perhaps you can go to the ER because you don't know if whatever you have is spreading or getting worse. And they also say to drink plently of water (though not too much as to not get water intoxication which can be very dangerous :) Feel better soon!

Jamie, much of the time we won't see any symptoms, sometimes from neither. Cranberry juice is much better, some people have to acquire a taste for it, but it's much better. It most defintiely is a purifirer, but if your symptoms persist it's always best to consult a physician. Heck if you don't like cranberry, there are some other flavors that they've made now that have made it more bearable for those of us who don't like pure cran berry taste. Hope All is Well- Best Of Health To You.

Yes, cranberry juice is helpful as long as it is not mostly apple or grape jucie. Always read the label.
Pasturization destroys some of the beneficial chemicals found in cranberries so the capsules may be better (if they weren't exposed to too much heat during processing) or buy cranberries and learn to enjoy their tart taste.

Cranberry products, pills and juice, will only help prevent bladder and UTI, they will not cure one once you get it. And they are not effective in helping kidney problems. You should see a dr.

Yes, but make sure it is pure cranberry juice, concentrate won't flush your kidney's because of the water content. It won't replace antibiotic's so see a doctor.

Yes, cranberry juice is good, as is drinking plenty of liquids. Stay away from caffiene though. And you should definitely go see a doctor.

I couldn't just sit around and do nothing like my doctors suggested.
They didn't want me to do anything or to take herbs or herbal remedies, but I had to try something - they just wanted me to do dialysis!
This program allowed me to take control of my health. I went from Stage 4 to Stage 3 kidney disease.
It was easy to do and my BUN, creatinine and anemia are all in better ranges.
