BEWARE OF PAPER IN THE BACK WINDOW OF YOUR VEHICLE NEW WAY TO DO CAR JACKINGS

You walk across the parking lot, unlock your car and get inside.
You start the engine and shift into Reverse.

When you look into the rearview mirror to back out of your parking space, you notice a piece of paper stuck to the middle of the rear window. So, you shift into Park, unlock your doors, and jump out of your car to remove that paper (or whatever it is) that is obstructing your view.

When you reach the back of your car, that is when the car jackers appear out of nowhere, jump into your car and take off. They practically mow you down as they speed off in your car.

And guess what, ladies? I bet your purse is still in the car. So now the carjacker has your car, your home address, your money, and your keys. Your home and your whole identity are now compromised!

This type of robbery/cerjack was warned about in Reader's Digest several months back. Always be aware of your surroundings, especially in cities. Keep warning others.

I have heard of this. Thanks for the warning. I have a friend and we would get in her car together at the mall (where she worked) in the evenings and she would sit there, car running, doors unlocked in the dark, calling her mom to tell her we were on the way to the house.

I always had to keep her inline and tell her to lock the doors. And you just don't sit in the parking lot like that either. Just a sitting target for crazy people ... and you never know when or where.

I feel like I was raised to be somewhat paranoid about stuff like that, but I feel also that I am SO much more aware and safe and cautious than most other people. It never hurts to be on the alert. You can still have fun, still enjoy yourself ... but it's so much smarter to simply be aware of what's going on around you and be aware of the many threats out there.

Thanks again.

Thanks for the tip Gregg,

My wife gets around quiet a bit by herself and never thinks about danger. She thinks all people have good in them and doesn't like to think about negatives.

I have warned her prior and would also like to pass this on to other women or children. Never pull over to the side of a road and stop at night when you see blue lights behind you. It may be a police officer or not. Most people have cell phones. Put on your emergency flashers and continue slowly to a populated area. The safest is a service station (not a self-serve). While in route call 911 and report what you are doing. They can check the area to see if it is a valid stop.

Good advice you gave.

P.S. I goofed on the name. This is Jr's

I have heard of that. And never put your car in park in a drive through especially if no one is ahead or behind you. When car jackers see the break lights on, its Christmas time.

Someone approaching a vehicle who does not notice anything unusual about it makes them the perfect victim.
I have to say, I would prefer this method to the alternative, being at a stoplight and looking over to see a semi-automatic pointed at my face.

You know, people who refuse to get a decent job and find new ways to steal from you are disgusting in my opinion. I hope that this did not happen to you, no one should have to deal with this. Thank you for the warning.

Thanks for the warning! That's why I take my dog with me, she won't let anyone come within 5 feet of our car. Nice car alarm... only cost 3 bucks every two weeks!
