odd question, but yes, i do usually take my shoes off. Half the experience of walking on a beach is feeling the sand between your toes and the water lapping at your ankles. If its a colder day I might just walk in sandals, but thats a rare occurence. Hope this helps.

i used to work at the beach and it was impossible to fuction without shoes because the sand got too hot. It is easily possible to get a serious burn on the soles of your feet from walking on really hot sand.
do i wear shoes on sand that the water is washing in? no.

doesn't matter what time of the year it is I always take my shoes off. I love the feel of the sand between my toes and I hate the feel of sand in my shoes! Why do you ask?

Usually. Sometimes I walk along rocky or shell-strewn beaches when shoes, or at least sandals, are required.
