Best is to check with a doctor if its a permanent problem or not. In case of a permanent problem there is no choice but to get them operated.

Yea, get a bottle of hydrogen peroxide and gargle with it be careful not to swallow any, because it is not good for the stomach, just put some in and wait for it to bubble, then spit it out.
also get some cough syrup, if this isn't helping go to you doctor.
I also sometimes use a q-tip with the hydrogen peroxide to reach deep in, I still have my tonsil's, I'm 49yrs old.
the tonsils sometimes are infected with a yeast infection, they call thrush when babies have it, you could also have another strain of some viral infection, it would be a good idea to see your doctor if it doesn't clear up in a couple of weeks. Another thing that can be helpful is vinegar, like pickles, and yogurt.

Know the asteroid wellhead tonsil stones them for many years and it's been title not eventually.
Best decision I've ever made! I was shocked by the way of getting out the stones out. It was so easy, but more importantly, painless. I really liked the little trick he had for preventing gag reflex. He have one happy customer here.

Drink a juice that has Aloe Vera in it. They are currently mixing Aloe Vera in a number of juices at Trader Joes, or a health food stores and gargle with it as much as possible. Juices with aloe vera taste good as well.
