There is no reason to claim to be a prophet. If you have a word for someone, you give it. Let them decide for themselves if you are a prophet or not.
Prophecy is not the act of foretelling the future, but of calling the future into existence.

Well there are only three options of what a person claiming to be a prophet can be:
Not Legit and knows it.
Not legit and doesn't know it.
Legit and knows it.
The feelings of indivual I'm sure would be completely different depending on which of the 3 they are.
