Money wise Egypt. What have you heard about Egypt?
If you are planning on staying in Luxor or Cairo then these placces are dirty in comparsion to the UK but they are beautiful. Most people stay in the Red Sea area and do trips from there to see the pyramids etc. Hurgarda and Taba Heights are great places to visit and the prices for the hotels are cheaper than Sharm at the moment.
another place to think of is maybe Oman or Jordan are these too are beautiful and the hotels are out of this world. Worth a look.

I've been to both - they are both wonderful but in very different ways. Egypt is all culture and sightseeing and mindblowing history. Malaysia is exquisite and very relaxing. The Malaysian people are some of the nicest I've had the pleasure of meeting. If you're on a budget though I'd suggest a Nile cruise - you'll love it.

Where ever you go it will have good and bad points! I'd love to visit both but would choose to go to Egypt first and then perhaps Malaysia! As I'll never be able to travel to either I'm basing it on the fact that I'd love to see the pyramids!
