Confronting the Copycat Thesis
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A Multi-Essay Examination
J. P. Holding
In spite of having been pronounced dead even by intelligent skeptics, the thesis that Judaism and Christianity consist merely of stolen pagan myths and ideas continues to be promulgated by the uncritical and accepted by the gullible. Acharya S and her Christ Conspiracy are simply the latest recycling of the general thesis, but now, even Robert Price has promulgated aspects of it in his Deconstructing Jesus.
This series of articles will serve as detail-supplements to Glenn Miller's general essay refuting the pagan-copycat thesis. We will make specific studies of religions or ideas that the critics claim are the source for some Jewish or Christian belief or concept.

Just because some narratives share a similiarity doesnt mean they are all right or all wrong. For instance, when cops interview witnesses to a crime, there is inevtiably always a liar on the scene as well as a person telling the truth. Their stories may share some similairity, but ultimately they are going to believe the person telling the truth and will expose the liar.
With all due respect, you dont need scientific proof to believe in God, nobody does. People dont deny God because of what is or isnt in their minds, they deny God because of what is in their hearts. Once you have that faith though in your heart, GOD will PROVE himself to you by answering your prayers an even do miracles as much as your faith will allow. But if you dont appraoch God by faith, neither will you approach him by science.
He said to him, 'If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be convinced even if someone rises from the dead. -Luke 16:31

The story of the resurrection was a common topic for religions before Christ. When Jesus went to raise Lazerus from the dead, one of the Marys mentioned the resurrection in the end. Jesus explained to her that "I am the resurrection" in other words he is the one to raise everyone from the dead.
My religion is this....That Jesus Christ is the messiah the savior of the world that most religions speak about. Almost all religions before Christ speak of a coming Messiah. Jesus Christ is that Messiah no man cometh to the father except thru him. All other religions are hopeless

Watch what's gonna happen.
There are 4 Angels that control the weather.
No other creature had a human Body.
The God man received the human body.
The hypo-static union.
Jesus Christ, the mediator for true Humanity.
His Human body paid the price," no man comes to the Father, but by Me".
Jesus Christ is our High Priest, He had to be our high priest, after the order of Melchizedek.
Hebrews 10:9
1st title:Son of God,
2nd title: Son of David
3rd title: King of Kings , Lord of Lords, Bright Morning Star.
The Church age was established to form a royal family for the 3rd title of Jesus Christ.
Our calendar system is formed around the BC/ AD("before Christ" and in the "year of our Lord") Just because you were not there, does not mean it did not happen.
Faith.

Ok, prove to me scientifically that Pontius Pilate existed...
You can't, and it doesn't make sense to ask us to either.
Now we can examine history and find that both Jesus and Pilate existed, that Jesus was crucified and his tomb empty, for is it had not been empty the Christian Church would have lasted, what, a day? Christianity is the only religion based on eye-witness accounts, and there is no reason at all to doubt the historicity of the Bible.
As for how I know I am right, it is because I know God personally, and my entire life has turned around since I gave it to him; not to alla, or to humanism, or buddhism, but to Jesus.

How can you want scientific proof on a topic that is scientifically unprovable? What if ALL the stories were real? What difference would it make? its not like jesus was resurrected screaming "yep, first one to do that!" moreso resurrection is an allegory towards divinity.

They don't care...they think that their religion was the first and only true religion. But if you look at history then you will see that millions of people didn't even know who Jesus was or even the Jewish god yeaweah
