Ms. Found: I think a lot of people, not only atheists, have unresolved issues with religion (not necessarily hate). I see many Christians struggling to understand things as well as atheists. Further, since I ask them not to generalize all Christians, I think such a statement from me would be hypocritical at best. Each of us is an individual and we come here for various reasons...I would just leave it at that.

I don't think so. By an individual being an atheist it would make more sense to my mind that all issues regarding religion and worship are resolved whether feelings of hate remain instilled in the individual for whatever reasons not being applicable to the lack of belief in a Deity.

I'm pretty well convinced that there are some "atheists" who are just rebellious young people angry with their parents, but an actual atheist does not hate religion. He or she would probably regard religion as an interesting historical artifact, but irrelevant to his or her life.
By the way, it is customary to use an initial upper case letter in "English," as in; "If you have any doubts refer to your English teacher."

No. You'll find it's mostly the religious that hate. Most hate those who think and believe differently from them. It's also a tell-tale sign when the religious follow a book which tells them to kill people who don't believe what they believe - both the Qur'an AND The Bible say that.
You can call a buddhist an atheist and most of them don't hate anything (aside from a few, like me who hate ignorance, greed and hatred itself).

I'm sure that, out of the many atheists using this forum, there are a few who have hate issues with religion.
Clearly, it is not a universal characteristic.

I love religion. It is a fascinating subject. To learn how even religions have evolved over time to change and fir the societies they exist in has shown me that religion is something made by men. We use science to understand that and many other things in our wonderful Universe. Here is a helpful link that you might find useful.

Not me: I just find it to be an interesting topic, and am interested in the opinions of others on all aspects of theology.

It's not a hate issue- I regard evangelical Christianity as wrong so I'm deliberately aggressive and hostile to it.
