I'm so sorry for your loss. You may have to consider cremation instead of a viewing, funeral and burial. As caskets, embalming/wakes/viewing, hearse rental, and transportation from morgue to funeral home to church to cemetary and cemetary plots and burial permits cost mega $$$$. I'm sorry you can't afford this. If you can't raise the money or get a loan, you may have no other option but for cremation. You can put your little one's ashes in a pendant/locket that you can wear as a necklace so your baby will always be with you. You can have your own memorial service after the cremation in a garden which won't cost you anything.

One other thought after reading the advice from the people in the UK. If you are in the UK - take their advice. If you are in the USA, try calling the Department of Social Services and see if they have some kind fund for funeral arrangement needs. I hope they do. It seems like in Europe they take better care of their citizens than the USA does.

Hope that helps you out.

Oh that is heart-breaking.

Are you in the UK?

In the UK I am sure there are emergency benefits/grants to help out with this - check on the department for work and pensions website or give your local CAB a call/visit.

Or your funeral director might be able to point you in the right direction - I'm sure they will have dealt with similar situations before.

Please accept my condolences,
My Dad died very recently, the booklet the Funeral Director had, said you do not pay for funerals for children under 16, I have no idea what they would provide, but I am sure the Benefits agency would help out too.

i'm so sorry for your loss. talk with the funeral home director and see if there is a way that they can finance. ask friends and family members to do a fundraiser. this one is a stretch, but maybe the red cross could help you, or at least know of someone else that could help. i know what it's like to lose a child, my heart goes out to you and your family.

Contact the social services department they might be able to help you. Or contact a funeral home and ask them what to do.

First, please accept my condolescences. No one should have to bury their baby. God be with you. Second, you could ask family or friends to see if they could take up a collection for the expenses. You could also check with the funeral home to see if they have a payment plan. You could also check with your local church to see if they have any money to donate to the funeral expenses. If you are employed you could ask your boss for a "loan" and ask them to deduct a certain amount out of your check each week (like $50 per week until paid). Good luck and God Bless.

If you are in the UK the DSS will give you a grant to cover the cost, you will also be eligible for the statutory grant that is given to all bereaved.
