I'm afraid of most cooking appliances and stoves.. of things splashing, burning, etc. especially since we have a gas range I HATE that thing I can NOT turn it on..
What would be the best appliance for me to cook things like meat, chicken, beef, sausage, etc. also rice, vegetables, potato dishes, etc.
Any tips for me?
I know my fears are unreasonable.. but I can't help it.. please offer me COOKING tips not fear tips..
Should I get a cooktop, hot plate, an electric wok, an electric skillet, etc. etc. ?? which ones ??
Recipes I can cook easily without using things that scare me ?
THANKS! =)

Two things come to mind ...
The slow cooker (a.k.a. crock-pot) and the Roaster oven.
Here are examples of both. I'm not necessairly recommending these, just showing you an example...

Order take-out (just kidding).
You may want to look into a Ronco Show-Time rotisserie. Usually those things you see on television are junk but this performs as well or better than advertised. You can cook a surprising variety of foods in it and rotisserie cooking is healthful. Also, it comes with a pair of heavy duty gloves for lifting out cooked items.
The George Foreman grill also works well and you can do a lot of different things with it. These two would take care of your meat issues and an electric rice cooker would cook your rice and steam your veggies (not at the same time) Potatoes could actually be baked in the rotisserie and if sliced thin enough (with the addition of some Pam) could be grilled on the Foreman grill.
Good Luck and happy cooking....

The first things that pop to mind are a Foreman grill, and a rice cooker. And one of those electric skillets. And maybe a cookbook dedicated to microwave cooking.
I'm with ya on the fear of gas stoves thing. I absolutely hate our gas stove. I use it, but cautiously, my sleeve caught on fire once. I miss my old electric stove.

A slow cooker is a good idea, you can make sauces soups and stew if you get a good cookbook. Also the microwave of course. I had an outdoor electric grill that made great meats, it is made by the Char-Broil company. An electric griddle would work nicely for breakfast items.

There are some stoves that corning top, there are no burners showing, and stuff cannot spill into burners, you know how Pyrex cooking things are made,,that is what the stove is made with,my sister has one like that and she just loves it,no burners to clean out,you should be very happy with that,,I'd check Sears out, good luck and have fun cooking again,

Get you a rice cooker for your rice and to steam veggies. They have a convection oven that cooks great and you can bake in it.Very versatile. If you like fried eggs for breakfast, get a small electric skillet for them.Check on QVC for the oven, they are great...Hope this helps.
