Religion means nothing. It's all a lie. Don't believe it.

I can't and won't attempt to speak for the whole world, just me. Religion means little. I think organized religion is a means for some to write the rules and enforce them against others....I have no use for that.
Religion to me, is private between me and my God. I don't need priests/ministers/rabbis, I don't need churches, I don't need a community of the faithful. I certainly don't need rules to follow (or else) to get me to heaven. Religion through history has been a means to inflict harm on one individual, group or another and there has never been any proof that it actually got somebody or some group salvation or into heaven.
Religion is the creation of man and wholly unnecessary when it comes to contemplating the reason for being here, what the universe is, and all those big questions that every individual should address for themselves in this life.

this question is loaded with amo. you are not going to get one anwser that will tell you about everyone but I can tell you about my faith- I hope that helps.
To me it means that jesus loved me enough to die on a cross and save me from the sin inside myself. It means that If I beleave in God and his son jesus that I will be with my lord in heven. It means that he is the only way to being saved, and that there is no other anwser.
Why do I think that? because:
1. I look around me at the world and see how wonderful everything is- and yet how the hate and anger in people makes it dark. It's ovious that we need to be saved from that evil that makes us treat one another so badly.
2. I read the bible and it was like it spoke to my heart. Such odd things and idaes that work so well. teaching us to love one another and put other people first. just looking at the book of james makes me know that life has a reason and that is to help other people see the wonderful things we were created to be.
probbly one of the harndest things for people to see that beings a christian is- is suffering. It means that life will be had because people don't like to be told that there is only one way. they don't like to hear that you know the anwser and they don't like to change their ways because it's hard. so hard that God sent down his only son Jesus christ so that if we follow him, even though we are not perfect we will be able to be with him. and each day that is hard is worth that time with christ.

A religion is basically a uniform set of beliefs; it can mean anything you want it to mean, but it don't mean a thing to God. He gave us commands, as well as the option of following them or not.

A belief that some one will always be there to help them in a time of need.Weather it be Allah,Buddha, God or any other person of worship.
