Making a curry & the stock cube made it too salty....is there anything i can add to it to make it better?

ginger b....thanks for the advice but this curry is actually a "GI diet curry" that I got from a recipe book, I've made it loads & it is very nice....however I dont normally buy value stock cubes & discovered today that these ones have far too much salt in! The potato has worked a treat for those that gave me that tip :-)

Add a cut up potato. Soaks the extra salt right up.

well i am from Trinidad and honey we do not put stock in curry for that is not how you make curry. now to correct your salty pot what you have to do is squeeze a lime in the pot also add some water so that the lime will take away all the salty taste. then to thicken the Garvey just add one tsp flour in a little water mix well and pour in pot . well please do not use stock in curry any more lol.hope that i was some help

If a dish is too salty, slices of raw pared potato added to it while cooking will absorb excess saltiness. When cooking adobo and it turns out too sour, add sugar.

I do not understand why you use stock cubes in curry I never do I just use meat, chopped onions, spices chopped garlic, tomato puree juice from fresh limes and fresh chillies

add sugar a teaspoonful at a time and keep tasting until the saltiness has gone

You could try potato, honey, or if you need a quick fix some sugar dissolved in water.

squeeze some lemon juice in, it will be less salty.
you can also put a whole potato inside to absorb the salt.

Add water and a pinch of sugar and let it boil off.

Add more of something that is already in there like tomatoes
