Bonaventure speaks of revelation in terms of 3 books. Can you name, and briefly describe what these three books mean?

I am not talking about three actual books of revelation. I am referring to Bonaventure's appropriately named Book of Soul, Book of Creation, and Book of Scripture. They are metaphors..AND they are taught in Catholic school in case anyone wants to argue that they are the work of the devil. I already found my answers anyway so no more are needed...not that anyone was helpful anyway.

He's not talking about the Book of Revelation, but rather of three mystical revelations that lead to God that are neo-platonic in character. These are outlined in many works, but espoused as a plan for the devout in 'The Journey of the Mind to God.' God is revealed by his footprints (the natural world), by his image (humanity), and by reflecting on God's own nature.

I would assume that he is dividing it into it's three major sections. The first is chapters 1-3, which is the introduction and letters to the 7 churches. Then chapters 4-22, which are the visions of the "things to be". Finally the concluding material in the last chapter.

I'm an old guy, but as I recall, he thought there were 3 stages, or "steps," leading to God: i.e, purification, illumination, and union. It's all floridly mystical, and intellectually unsatisfying - at least for this reader.
As to "Revelation" itself, I did not know he thought of it as divided up into 3. By they way, we really haven't a clue as to who the "John" is who wrote Revelation.

Revelation is singular, Revelations is plural. If you are referring the last book of the bible then there is only one.
