Hi there
A good and strange question which I'm not sure many people will be able to answer but here's what i personally think it is.
Chakras are a form of energy very similar to Chi in Chinese or Ki in Japanese. In Martial Arts most people only think about focusing their Chi to direct and circulate its energy around the body. But the same energy can also be wrongly stored in your body. This can consist of bio electrical energy or emotional energy which has to be released. Chakras involve the practitioner sensing or feeling the different colours of energy and they try to release the trapped or bad energy causing discomfort. This can also be psychically felt by tension and heat absorbed around the body. Other remedies such as Shiatsu, Acupuncture, Rekki, Amatsu all follow these principles. So the two are connected in that a Martial Artist tries to direct there energy to a focused point but a Oriental therapist tries to release trapped energy being wrongly stored by the body. Martial Arts and oriental medicine are closely related. Many of the worlds grandmasters are practitioners in oriental medicine with good reason.

1. most martial arts talk about the hara or tantien, or abdomen - this is the second chakra. Obviously there is something particularly important about this chakra for martial arts. It does make sense because it relates to fear and security. Chi is generally described as coming from here.
2. each martial art has a centre of the body where the movements originate. It seems to correlate with the different chakras.
eg. boxing moves from the shoulders, judo from the eyes and head, taekwondo from the hips. Capoeira is probably from the belly, sumo from the top of the head etc.
Different people tend to lead from one or other of them. So obviously in each art a particular chakra is stronger than the others.
3. Ninjutsu actually categorises some of their techniques and strategies as coming from different chakras. It is the only martial art i know that actually talks about the different chakras.
4. In terms of using them all at once - i think that would look a bit like buddha - you would just be so peaceful that no-one could dream of attacking you. What might be more practical is to switch between them when you need, but from what i have seen people are more effective simply focussing on the one that comes most naturally to them.

Chakras as known in Reiki are concerntrated energy points, or points throughout the body at which energy gathers. Now Chi, or Qi is Vital energy that flow throughout the body and if properly cultivated can be manipulated to aid the Martial Arts practitioner to utilize this energy at will. If I understand your question you would like to know if it is possible to focus the energy from the seven chakras in Martial Arts. I say yes. Cultivate your Reiki, and your Marital Arts, and try to focus this energy within all your different technique, you will see a difference.

I studied and taught Yoga before coming to martial arts training, apart from they run down the centre of the body I would suggest that they are different subjects and any comparison would be conjecture. What I hope to bring to my area of martial arts is the benefits of structured meditation (when I qualify to teach - a while off yet). Take proper instruction in how to 'open' and more importantly 'close' the chakras in meditation, then they will add to you overall performance and life, 'what ever helps you live a better life'

as far as i have learned, chakras are centers in the body where certain energy and emotions are stored.
cant see how they would be "used" while doing moves, as they are in use all the time....how free flowing they are depends on the person...their emotional state, their past, the food they eat, the music they listen to, etc.
i would search wikipedia for a more thorough definition. once you have that, think about how they could be related to martial arts.
i see them as not so much being related to martial arts in general, but most definitely related to the artist practicing the martial art.

the question asked is impressive to say the least and insightful and tantilizing at best. If you are truly familiar with chakaras then you should understand the meaning already. if not ,find a quilified teacher to instruct you in the way of spiritual energy and its subsequent manipulation. As far as martial arts are concerned pertaining to chakaras; it is a personal matter. A matter which is determined by both mental as well as physical factors of said practitioner. Emotional energy is both exilirating and nullifing in the terms of chakaras incorporated into martial arts. be cautious and mindful of spiritual influences, these are more dangerouse than a jumping front snap kick followed by a guilitine choke. my understanding is that chakras are the Indian equivalent of energy centres in the body and obviously there is a contiuous improvement over the years in the use of this energy structure. my own perspective on this [theory] skill is that like[ the internal] chinese family styles it helps you become a more complete martial artist. hope that helps ,good luck and keep asking good quality questions.

From what I have read, chakras are nothing more than describing basic body mechanics and such. The stuff chakras try to explain can better described in modern science with the body's various glands, organs and hormones.
As for fighting techniques and such, charkas mean nothing.
