I haven't written a poem in a long time, I wrote one yesterday, I am trying to get my creative juices going, I am a novelist, not a poet, I am just totally stuck in a writing rut....so I thought this would help...what do you think? Feel free to say it sucks...lol.

Change

You hurt me,
So I hurt you,
You say things,
So I say it back,
But you loved me,
So I loved you back.

Searching for others,
Knowing they won't be you,
But it's one like you I am looking for,
Knowing there's only one you,
But we can never be the same.

I wish we would never have been,
But I am glad that we were,
Being with you brings me pain,
But also love,
Things can't be the same,
They always have to change.

Its a pretty awesome poem but i have to say that your tempo and scheming are a little off, i have to say though if you keep working at this you sir could be a very good poet and everyone is right you should be careful where you post it you dont want people to steal your work.

For me a poem has to have rhythm. It doesn't unavoidably might want to rhyme even though it needs to hit my thoughts. i imagine readability of expression is major besides. i do not opt for to 2d guess what i'm studying about. I continually search for what I time period "poetic gem stones"contained in the textual content.

I like it. It's an honest & simplistic piece - don't need big words to convey what you want to say. Lovely.

No emotion, I didn't feel it.
I write poetry too and it was too stark and cold.
I felt like I was marching as I read it.....
