There is either a special song or sent that takes me back to each boyfriend. French Vanilla coffee, any KISS song, Ren and Stimpy cartoons. They all hold a special place in my heart.

Yes! Sometimes, I can close my eyes and physically imagine myself back in those lost moments of time. I sometimes even feel guilty for wanting to dwell in such memories. I am happily married now, why would I want to remember an ex? I don't think it's so much my ex that I am fondly recalling but instead the feelings and sensations I, myself, experienced during those times. And just as equally as I can so vividly reminisce all the good impressions from my past, certain songs also trigger some of my more dark, deep, and depressing memories. Strangely enough, I will rarely and masochistically do this on purpose when I am feeling a bit blue. My husband is convinced that I become distant to him every time I listen to 70's rock music lol. I wonder, if eating certain foods or exercise causes the brain to release endorphins, music can too?
Anyway, good question, I enjoy ones like this.
Best wishes!

I dated my first love for over 6 years and our song was Bring It On Home (Little Big Town)... We broke up almost a year ago and to this day that song comes on the radio it makes me cry... It reminds me of better times... there are points when I wished I could go back but I know that we can't and that we shouldn't... It'll never be the same again. It does feel like yesterday... the first time I had ever heard the song we were sitting in his truck talking and it was raining, well he turned the radio up as load as he could and cracked the window so we could hear it and we got out in the pouring rain and just danced to it... It was so sweet, and at times, yes feels like yesterday, but at other times it feels like a life time ago! :)

"Wonderful" by Eric Clapton. It was "our wedding song", but like the previous answer, I can't listen to it anymore. It's just too painful. It has been 17 years.

i’m here without you baby,
but your still on my lonely mind.
i think about you baby,
and i dream about you all the time.
i’m here without you baby,
but your still with me in my dreams.
And tonight,
it’s only you and me.
