I have a 6 month old pug/rat terrier (puggat)
how big do they get

Also, when can i do in the early stages of his life to maximize his size?

Overview: The Puggat is a mixture of the American Rat Terrier and the Pug. They generally make good pets and can have the temperament and physical characteristics of either breed.

That dog is not going to be very big at all. Anything to maximize his size could cause serious health issues in the future. Let him grow at a normal pace.
If you wanted a big dog you should have purchased a larger breed of puppy.

Puggat? LOL, wow. I have never heard of this so-called "breed" before. We couldn't possibly give you any useful information regarding their behavior, temperament or grooming, since all mutts are different and all mutts are unpredictable in size, temperament, coat, etc. I suggest checking out your local shelter or Pug rescue. Don't support irresponsible mutt breeding.

What...is a Puggat? Edit: A pug and rat terrier mix...How did they come up with 'puggat' when a 'pugrat' would have made so much more sense?

Sounds like a cute dog. It really depends on which breed he takes after, as other people have stated on here. To me, thats the fun of owning a mix breed dog, its a mystery of how he will turn out. :)

He is pretty much full size now. He will only get to be about 15-18 lbs. total they are little dogs.
