I currently have windows me and microsoft is wanting to faze this out soon. New software (turbo tax) will not load on "me" so I've decided it's time to upgrade.

Question is which one to upgrade to? XP or the new Vista?

If you can still get XP, that will probably be best for your system until microsoft can get all the bugs out of the vista system.
Also, vista is a hog on the pc, it wants better graphic cards, better processors with high speed, lots of memory in order to run properly. XP is not so demanding.
New computers might be the best way to go for windows vista.

If you are able to find XP, get XP. cause for Vista you need a faster computer and I'm sure that you computer is quite old just on the fact that you are ruining, ME... besides with vista you probably will have to by a new turbo tax version.
to make a long story short. Don't get vista yet Wait until all the dust is settle. (bug out)

If your computer is running Windows ME, the chance of it supporting Microsoft Vista is approximately zero. Upgrade to XP or buy a new computer that has Vista pre-installed.

If you have Windows ME (2000) on your computer it is probably about 6 years old. I consider this too old to run Vista.

If you install XP you might get an additional 2-3 years before you have to buy a new computer with Vista on it.

particularly it truly is downgrading. Vista is the hot operating equipment of microsoft. you are able to replace your operating equipment from vista to xp, only insert the living house windows xp installer and restart the computer and persist with the training, it is going to ask you in case you want a clean reproduction (format) or go away the equipment intact (no longer recommendable). I examine various complains on vista, yet i like it truly is interface.

I'm seeing lots of negative comments here about Vista. I only switched to XP about a year ago and I really like it. I don't think I will be switching anytime soon.

I would recommend XP, only because it is more stable then vista and Microsoft will support it for a few years.

you should definantly upgrade, I suggest vista, but it has so much securtity that it's almost impossible to play any games online if your into that stuff. XP is fine to, it's up to you but I definantly suggust upgradeing, ME is terrible!
