jsut wondering about the mechanisms that may be in place? anyone with experince please give me some insight. thank you

Going straight up the hill would be most diffcult, however, traversing the hill at an angle, back and forth, would prove to be much easier. Like 'tacking' in a sailboat taveling into the wind...straight into the wind would be tough, but you can tack back and forth and make the journey that much easier.

I'm not aware of any mechanisms that might be available to ease traversing a hill...anyone else?

electric wheel chairs need to be well powered and have good batteries. I was in a wheel chair for a good long time and being a bigger man I needed a very powerful chair for uphill climbs to my apartment. Make sure you have good brakes also.

If your using a manual chair and again make sure you have good brakes and help in climbing that hill.

You don't, and you don't go d/hill either you need to accept you need help here. Electric might be different.I personally won't go anywhere near with/without help lol.
