you have a needle going in you over and over, what do you think? of course it hurts. the one on my bikini line made me sweat and grab anything i could around me! but i still will go back for more lol.

I just got my first tattoo right on my hip bone yesterday. I'm a big chicken, freaked out like crazy beforehand for nothing. On a pain scale it was like a 3 of 10 for me--honestly I had chapped lips and picking at those hurt more than the tattoo. There were certain sensitive spots that hurt, but it was only for a few seconds. The tattoo took an hour though, and the biggest pain for me was sitting still for that long. It's all about pain tolerance though, every experience is different.

I have one on my belly near my hip bone...it took an hour..and it HURT like you would not believe...once he started, he couldn't stop (or it would have looked weird)...so I had to lie there and writhe in pain the whole time...the areas you are talking about are some of the most tender areas of the body...if you REALLY want to get a tattoo, start small...see how it feels, before you commit to a larger area of your body. Some people can handle the pain, but most can't...

I had mine on my shoulder (right where that bone is), it felt like someone was scratching me (not hard, the same as you would scratch when it itches) and occaisonally it felt like when you're getting a really good massage and they hit a nerve and you want to roll your shoulder. Everyone says something different (that the wrist hurts worst, no the underside of your arm does), it all depends on your pain threshold and how nervous you are getting you tattoo.

I had mine in that very section. it is hip bone to hip bone. i had it done to cover a surgical scar. it looks amazing...however...despite the fact that i uncharacteristically threw down 2 margaritas and popped a prescription pain pill...i still felt pain bad enough for me to pray for the sweet relief of death to sweep me away! Had I known of the pain...I never would have done it! But I am very glad I did and I believe you will too!

Ive had the back of my kneck and it was fine! If you really want the tats the pain soon fades and you'll be left with something beautiful at the end! Go for it and forget about the pain.

I got mine on my back near my shoulder and it wasn't the worst pain that I've felt. My cramps are much worse :-) Mine was in a meaty area and I heard that it hurts more in the bony areas. Make sure you go to a good place (design artist and sterile).

All tattoos hurt to a degree. Whewn you get closer to a bone it hurts more. Where there are nerves like on the inside of you arm or thigh it hurts.

whatever.
all tattoos "hurt". im so over people asking this
and if you get on your ribcage, thats the most painful spot
IF you get your 1st one there, i seriusly doubt you'' go back to get another one.
