I didn't see her do it, but I saw her biking in the vicinity of my car, she would have had an opportunity to do it late at night and has a plausible motive (i.e. dislikes me).

Should I just let karma take care of it?

Update: The gashes and scratches -- clearly made by a bike. NO question there.

Well, the insurance route could not pay off, so I paid for the repairs out of my pocket.

By the way, it was a 30-something woman on a road bike. Not a punk kid. Tho', she wishes she was a punk kid. Sure does act like one.

I don't think there's much you can do about it, unless you saw her damage the car. Is Karma the name of your auto insurance?

Any time anything even remotely like this happens the first thing to do is file a police report. Delaying this makes your case look weak, especially if you did not actually see her do it. Send the person a certified letter asking her to pay for the damages. If she refuses you can take her to small claims court (civil) where YOUR burden of proof is substantially less than that in criminal court. All you need to do in civil court is proove to the court that you are at least 51% correct. (even 50.0000001%) will do. Beyond a reasonable doubt is for criminal court only. Honestly, it sounds like that if you get a "ding-doctor" out of the yellow pages (under Automobile Repair & Bodywork) you could have it fixed relatively cheaply and move on.

Ask her. If she doesn't come clean, ask to see her bike, and look for paint ruboff on it. If she doesn't let you look at her bike, you'll have to file a claim with your insurance company if repair costs are more than your deductible, in which case you can mention that you think someone did it, but without witnesses, it would be tough to get anything done.

Do you have a real reason to believe she did it or you just want to blame someone? Confront her, and if you still think she did it, then use something more solid than karma to take care of the problem...like a baseball bat.

Take pictures and see if there are gashes on the bike. Take her to small claims court.

If I were you ; I'd check out her bike and see if she has scratches on it . And if they do then I would take photos of it and my car and then I would confront her, or her parents about it . Good luck.

Unless you think you can convince a forensics team to prove it was her bike, either settle it with your insurance company under your comprehensive coverage or live with it.
