Hey Alice,

Literally, the Cowherd's daughter. It refers to the traditional Valentine day celebrated in China on July 7 (similar traditions are celebrated in parts of Japan and Taiwan). The Chinese Valentine's Day, also called The Daughter's Festival.

It's important to keep in mind that the festival is not always celebrated on the same day, it varies, as other festivals and holidays, because of the Lunar year.

As one of the version of the legend goes, "a handsome cowherd stole the clothes of an emperor's seven fairy-daughters while they were bathing in a river. The youngest, Weaving Maid, who was also the fairest and the prettiest of them all, went to fetch the clothes. Instead, she fell in love with the cowherd and married him. When the emperor found out, he became furious and dragged Weaving Maid home while her grandmother drew a milky way across the sky to prevent the two from meeting."
