I have been collecting for 13 years now and I have had several leaked on me. Thank goodness no exploding cans yet. What I do is to drill two small holes on the bottom of the can with an awl (or sharp pointed tool). Drain, rinse and dry. That's it. Some collectors drill the hole on top of the can by moving the pulltab slightly to the side and drilling the hole where it would be obscured by the pulltab when you move it back. Once the hole is drilled, shake and drain the content. Most collectors will empty their cans by drilling holes and preserving the pull tab and the top lid. Happy Collecting!

Poke a hole in the bottom, I suppose, or at the pressure point at the opener area, with a nail or something like that. Contents are under pressure, though, so if I were the one doing this, I would be prepared to get soaked by soda!

Drill a small hole in the bottom of the can near the edge (to get ALL the liquid out. You can purchase a cheap small hand drill at any crafts store. I wouldn't recommend trying to use a nail because you could accidentally dent the can.

Punching two holes in the bottom (one for air) is about the only way. The problem is that you cannot get all of the coke out and it is hard to rinse out with small holes. If it doesn't destroy your collector value, make holes large enough to allow thorough rinsing.

Drill a small hole in the bottom with a drill.. It won't bend the can and it can be small enough that it would seep out yet you would not see the hole. Make sure you do it on the lowest part of the bottom of the can.

You take a pen and put the tip of the writing end where there is a circle thing in the middle of the tab and hit the top of the pen and it will make a whole and then you let it drain.

The only way you could do it is to make a little opening somewhere unobtrusively, along the edge of the bottom of the can somehow.

using a small nail or pin, you can punch a hole in the top of the can, in the small circle that holds the tab on the top of the can, it is weakest in that small circle, and barley noticeable.
Though the can will be more valuable if it still has it's contents.
