Most (straight) alcoholic drinks are low carb, so vodka with a diet mixer will do the job nicely! It does vary from person to person though - some people find that they don't loose weight if they continue drinking.

Just remember that low-carbing will lower your alcohol tolerance - drink slowly so you don't over do it! Also, when on a low carb diet, you are more likely to get dehydrated, so it would be wise to alternate each drink with a glass of water.

As most people are already aware, alcohol has a depressant effect which lowers inhibitions, including those that could stop you from overeating and making poor food choices. If you think you might get a bit tipsy and reach for the bar snacks, it might be wise to stick with water!

Alcohol in general is carbs (there are no carbs in it but the time and energy it takes the body to deal with the alcohol mekes one glass of white wine is the same as 1.5 pieces of white bread) so what I would reccomend is white spirits like gin, or vodka or white wine. Also make sure you avoid carbs before you go out that way you will still loose weight as your carbs of the day will be the alcohol but make sure you have dinner like a steak with veg.

Also, though it's hard try to do some cardio excersise tomorrow, go for a 20 min run or a fast walk. You will sweat out the alkohol, kelp your melabolism deal with the toxins and get back to burning fat so that you stay on track and also you will feel much better for it.

Dry white wine, like chardonnay. Whie rum with diet coke has zero carbs but remember that these drinks still have calories and too much liquor will still mess with your low carb goals. I should know because I can't lose that last ten pounds because of my Friday/Saturday night drinking. Mind you, I don't drink to excess usually.

They also have diet cranberry so you can try that with vodka, also low carb.

Unlike a previous poster who said that low carb lowers your tolerence I have found the opposite--assuming you have been on it for 6 months to a year WITH success. My tolerence is much higher so I have to watch out because of the calories.

I certainly agree with a poster who said drinking to drunkeness will destroy your sense and make you reach out for the high carb snacks!
