I quit smoking almost 5 months ago and ever since I did I have had a CRAZY amount of acne on my back, shoulders and face which I hardly ever had before. I can only assume that it is related to quitting, someone told me that it is my body getting rid of all the toxins, but when will it end?
HAS THIS HAPPENED TO ANYONE ELSE????? PLEASE HELP

It is more likely stress related.

If you do a search on this site on acne and quitting smoking you'll find that you are not the only one. I just quit smoking 2 1/2 months ago and my face is getting worse and worse and it burns! Now my back is starting to hurt too!

I have only ever had the 1 or 2 pimples on my chin when I had PMS. I used to receive compliments on my good skin.

I went to the doctor and I was told to use only hypo-allergenic, irritant free, non-comodogenic products. Cetaphil is a very inexpensive brand of skin care found at any drug store, and you should probably use the kind for oily skin. It has stopped the allergic type break-outs all together, but I'm still trying to get rid of that acne (but it has only been a week). The problem is that I have become allergic to everything else, and you probably have too.

Someone else who experienced the same problem said that it turned out to be Perioral Dermatitis. I'm going to look into that, and perhaps you should too.

I've searched for many hours for any other information on this subject, and I have found nothing useful, except the confirmation that this has happened to others.

If you figure out something that I haven't, please let me know!

It does cause break out's also you gain weight, get sick, go crazy , and hate your husband. But It took me like half a year to stop having side effects but they stop after a while. You may want to get some good pimp meds for your breakouts like proactive, despite the fact that Jessica Simpson makes it seem evil, or like some Noxzema or that body wash that's for your butt and your pimps

Good job for the quitting, It almost killed me to stop but now im healthy and less likely to burn my house down on accident.
