Talk to your airlines reservation department. There is still a record of you having bought the ticket. It not so much that you are rescheduling, but you have credit that will be used toward your next trip. So if the price if higher when you want to go next, you pay the higher price, plus there will be change fees of about $100. If it was weather related, then the rules maybe a bit different.

How did you book this? That will demand on who does this for you.
*Online bookings you wait for the next available res. agent.
*Travel Agent, you call them and they will take care of it.
*If you just no-showed on this ticket then that could be a problem.
*If the flight was canceled and if there are waivers of rebooking travel there are restrictions on those.

Without knowing more, I can't answer you. A lot really does depend on how you booked on if you can do it through the airline or not as well as why it was cancelled (due to you, or the airline). Depending will determine if/what penalties you have.
