windows vista is quite expensive at the moment but by buying o.e.m versions of the os you can save up to £200 of the rrp
o.e.m or original equipement manufacturer are basically like the full and upgrade versions but dont have as much warranty or support although they do have a full product key and all the features that the full versions have
i have looked for the cheapest packages on the internet and here is what i found
vista basic....http://www.misco.co.uk/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=263755&CatId=0
vista premium...http://www.misco.co.uk/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=263771&CatId=0
vista ultimate...http://www.misco.co.uk/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=263766&CatId=0
as you can see you can save quite a bit by buying the o.e.m versions, take time to look at the information about each version
good luck

While you are waiting for Microsoft to sort out the problems with Vista, try one of the free, reliable and up to date operating systems.
Once one of these is installed you gain access to thousands of free programs developed by the open source community.

I advise you not to use vista because I'm using it and its really shite. If i was you, i would stick with Windows Xp; Also i heard there is a new Windows Xp SP3, but its not out yet and it's probably just a rumour.

I suggest you check first the specification of your computer to match what kind of vista software is suited to your pc as there are different version of it. You can buy it on any computer store like pc world, currystore, harvey norman store etc.
