I'm going get a tattoo...I was thinking either on my hip or on the small of my back, but I heard that it really hurts on the small of your back! Any suggestions that will make it less painful?

The hip would hurt more than the small of your back....but suck it up and take it like a trooper, it will be over before you know it. Pain is good.

I've got tattoos on what people say are probably the most painful places - spine, ankle, back of the neck, top of the foot, wrist, hip and ribs. The least painful place out of all of them was the back of my neck and the most painful place by far (to the point where I almost asked the artist to stop and left) was my ribs. That was just pure torture!

In my opinion, the top of the foot hurt the worst. I have one on the top of each foot. I have a really big piece on the small of my back and yes, it hurt when he hit the bone. Really anywhere that's boney or the skin is thin hurts the worst.

On more boney places, I am going in to get mine done on my hip in less then an hour, so hopefully that ain't too bad. My sister has her back and ankle done, she said when they hit where her spin is, then it hurt. My other sister had her top of her foot done, she said that HURT BAD. Hope this helps!

Personally my most painful tattoo was in the middle of my chest, 2 hours of pure hell.

The top of your foot, the inside of your arm, your elbow, etc. Those places hurt the most.
The small of your back hurts a little, but for me it was more uncomfortable than anything else.

The back is pretty painful when trying to sleep. Also, the elbow hurts like hell!

Well my husband has nine tattoos and he said the most painful one was the one on his neck.

the pain is really not THAT bad. the most painful part is on the spine. but feet are definitely the most paiful tattoo i have ever had.
