I don't want to pay for a site like ancestory.com though. Isn't there free info on this? I've spent two hours on the net and can't find anything.

Yutzy is an Amish name or a Mennonite name.

It's a distinctive Pennsylvania Dutch(German) surname. Variations are Utz(like the potato chips),Youtz etc. It's common with Pa. Dutch surnames to add a y at the end. Pa. The 1880 census on Ancestry.com is free. From those records, it does appear that the surname is German / Pennsylvania Dutch / Amish
