yeah, that tile should go, but if you can't get rid of it, why not try some shades of yellow? you should look at a color wheel; I can't recall which colors are complementary (reds, I think, but that's Christmasy!!) the color wheel also shows you triadic colors, or other colors that would go with green...since olive green has yellow in it, the yellows group is at least a place to start..or you could go with some shades of green that would not look too 'leprechaun-y"....you'll have to do some homework on this one!! and make sure you get samples and leave them in the bathroom for at least a day or two, to see how they look during the day, at night, etc. ...but one look at a color wheel will help you with your final decision.good luck!!

Well you are gonna have to go with something that will match the tile but try something a little more up to date. A pale yellow or Pale green (Pastels) will probably match nicely. Then do the Trim work( ceiling and door moldings) in a semi-gloss white. Be sure and Use Latex Paint for the job. It is easy to wash dirty hand prints off the walls and its also easy clean-up after painting. You can always add a pretty color coordinated border to really dress up the Bathroom.

Consider a complimentary shade of yellow. Look at 2 shades one light and one dark. Paint the entire room with the light color then tape off equal vertical strips around the round (width depends on the size of the room the bigger the room the wider you can have the stripe). Alternate light and dark stripes around the room. This will draw some of the attention away from the olive. If you do not like yellow, look at grays for the same this with a base of green to compliment the olive in the room.

Go with a neutral. Off white or a cream. Then accent with hand towels, pictures and the like. You'll make the room too busy and look smaller if you try to put a contrasting or complimentary color on the walls to match the counter top and the tiles.

a very dark olive in the same tone, or one step off of that tone. that old olive is much older than the 80s! 70s and 60s. there is also tile paint that you can use, but its very tricky, make sure you sand the surface well and use any primers you can if you use tile paint. also, its really not that hard or expensive to do tile. be brave and change it! home depot will show you how.

Browns and begies (sometimes grays) go with olive green normal...so maybe try a color around there.

You could stay mostly with a monochromatic scheme and do a few different "shades" of green, accent with a bit of bright yellow and white.

You could do a lighter shade of green with a stripe of yellow and a stripe of navy. This would look really cool.
