I am a smoker and I stay in hotels according to their smoking policies. I have learned that you must phone the hotel to make your reservations and ask for a smoking room. If you book online, most sites do not even ask if you want smoking. I have stayed at the Hilton and the Sheraton and both had smoking floor, but I strongly advise you to check directly with the hotels because their policies are always changing. I once booked a room in advance and when we went on vacation they had made the entire hotel nonsmoking. I smoked anyway !!!!

I have also been to hotels were they will let you smoke in your room if you pay a premium. The Prince of Wales in Niagara on the Lake charges 200.00 a night for the privilege of smoking. So buyer beware.

Also, not many provences allow smoking in restaurants, so check that out.

My best advise to you is to visit Canada in the summer so you don't freeze you're tushy off every time you need a smoke!

yes there are but you have to get a smoking room.
Most hotels have a balcony out of the room so even if the room is smoke free you can just walk out your door and smoke there.

Note: also always ask in a restaurant about smoking and theyl seat you based on that also in Tim Hortons they usually have smoking and no smoking areas. Obey what the signs say and you'll be fine.

Also I'm assuming you're american so I'll tell you what Tim Hortons is. It's Star bucks but WAY better.

In Ontario, you are going to have a bit of a hard time because they jack up the prices so unbelievably high. As for restaurants and bars--illegal to smoke in any restaruant/under any porch in Ontario--except on reserves.
