They can't prove the bones are from Jesus.

Nope, it won't.. how many believers do you really think are going to take this seriously? My guess is very few, if any.

No one here has actually seen the film, and it's too early to be speculating as to what real evidence there is.. other than a striking similarity in the names of these family members to those of the bible.
I think we should all reserve judgment until after Sunday's viewing on the Discovery channel. I'm sure next week will be filled with these Jesus' bones questions again.

Do you try to do a search on this at all? This is like the 12th time I have had to answer this. These bones were found in the 80's and proved to be a hoax by well respected archeologists. This is just a way for some people to make some money off of ignorant people. Guess it's working. LOL.

Even for atheists this "discovery" needs to be taken with a grain of salt. One it's over 30 years old, the names are very common names for the time and region, and it is being presented in a sensational manner as opposed to a paper written, presented and subject to criticism by peers in a archaeological journal. All of these things cause it to be suspect from the very beginning.

On the side, I vote to add this question to the drinking game... i.e. just like the monkey or pascal's wager, we all take a shot when some one asks it.

No, because they are not the bones of Jesus Christ, the Son of God, Those are probably the bones of Jesus Smith the guy who lived in a little hut by the Mount of Olives with his wife Mary. Who lived next door to Jesus Doe with his wife Mary who baked bread for Jesus Brown and his wife Mary. You get the picture.

This documentary makes me wonder if Discovery is so bored out of their wits they have to create and recreate old stories.

AND old stories with no way of knowing if theyre right or wrong.

How are they gonna prove its Jesus's tomb???? Jesus doesnt have any remains, and neither do anyone of those people.

The real question is, did Jack Dawson and Rose DeWitt Bukater ever have a child? Was it Lizzy Calvert? James Cameron is an expert at turning factual events and changing them to fiction.

If there is anyone who has the true history of Christ, it is the Jew, simply because they lived with him, they watched him grow, and they killed him. If there is anyone who would have wanted to find his bones and display it top the world to prove a point, it would have been the jew. But what makes you think that you or whoever finds it fit to maliciously rattle my faith is brighter than a jew? Until that day a jew speaks out, maybe i might stop to listen, but even then, my Christ rocks, he brought me closer to the true God, Jehovah, Yaweh, such is the strength of my saviour!

No, because as I've said many times before Christians will deny that those bones are actually Jesus (that's IF it could be proven either way anyway.)

So since Christians will deny it, there would be no need to rewrite anything.

The problem is that no one would be able to confirm that ANY bones are those that belong to Jesus of Zazareth because of lack of DNA of Mary.

If we had the DNA of Mary, His mother, then you could do a comparison between her DNA and the DNA of any bones suspected to be those of Jesus of Nazareth.

No DNA, no proof.
