How much damage can gasoline that splashed in the ear cause?

my friend accidentally got some gasoline in his ear. he sayds it hurts like hell yet he refuses to to see a doctor. he says he couldnt miss work last night because he's had too many absences and his truck needs to go in the shop. had that been me no matter what i wouldve rushed to the er. maybe his boss would understand. why must certain people be so bullheaded?

Did he at least wash it out? well, it can jack up his ear drum .... and it can possibly cause a chemical burn..
