Depends on the color highlights. Don't put blonde, that looks so cheap, tacky and nasty. Chestnut brown, caramel, light brown highlights would look good. But honestly, dark hair looks good w/o highlights. It looks really sexy and exotic.

I have dark brown almost black hair, and I have had highlights put in. It looked great! Just don't go too light with the highlights. Maybe even a little reddish tone would look nice.

If you have dark hair.. then go with the light brown or red highlights, even a pretty dark purple, or if your adventurous try a green.. to lighten it up a bit.. black hair doesnt look good with blond.. you would be creating the cruella de ville look..
