I am a female and I am 20 and right now no more than 4 years older and normally I'd say 1 year younger but theres a guy now who is 18 who I'd make an exception for.

I'm a guy, 20yo. I wouldn't go younger than 18, i don't need a criminal record, plus I have little siblings and it would be creepy to hit on their friends... In the other direction though, generally 5-7 years, but I;d go out with Demi Moore and she's more than twice my age....

The older you get, the more of a difference there can be. At 30, I dated a 38-year-old. But if I were 20, I would never have dated a 28-year-old. Here's the formula:
If you are 20, you can go 2 years younger and 4 years older.
24: 3 years younger; 5 years older
26: 4 years younger; 6 years older
30: 5 years younger; 7 years older

Use this formula/pattern. It makes sense to me.

I am female and would probably date a male up to 2-3 years younger and 6-8 years older.

I'm a girl, I'm dating someone 7 years older and its great (I'm 26). I think it depends of how old are you, it is different if you are 13 or 25. The much younger the more difficult. I think 10 years older and maybe 5 years younger, at my age guys who are less than 20 are very immature.

I would date up to 11 years older than me and 1 year younger. But after say 45, you stop counting the years older. As a female, after 45, I think I'll be looking for someone a few years younger just for their energy level.

I'm a girl. I would date a guy probably 7-8 years older than me and 1-2 years younger. However, if the love is strong. Then nothing wud matter.

I feel that when love really comes about all the criterias that you set are uneccessary. Age, sex, appearance, height etc.
However, for me now, I would date a guy not more than 15 years older and not 5 years younger than me.
Biologically, man dies off sooner than woman, so it maybe is better to have a younger husband to keep you acompany.
However, most men are rather retarded in the development of mental age. This forces woman to have to look for older man.
