Being painfully shy isn't really an excuse-i'm also painfully shy but when I've wanted to meet a woman in the past i've had to get a backbone & done what needed to be done!
You see a girl you like,just go and talk to her,don't make up poor excuses about not being able to/don't know how/don't know what to say...just do it! Say hello,introduce yourself and see where that goes....it's simple and even a kid can do it.

I think shyness is a very appealing aquality in a man. Probably means you're most likely to be a considerate caring person.

I think that you should try to overcome your shyness if it is keeping you from moving foward in life when it comes to finding that special someone.

Are you only shy when it comes to the opposite sex? Well, there is no reason to be. We're not that scary if you really think about it.

You should try approching women that you are attracted to. We are less likely to approach you. We are always waiting for a great guy to approach us with a compliment, a smile, a sign of interest and you'd probably make a woman very lucky by choosing to be that guy.

You could try an online dating site-good thing about those is that you can kind of pick which people you're interested in, you could find another shy lady maybe and then it'd be easier.
